Nap Mat

Katelynn is very enamored with her "nap mat", which she uses at pre-school twice a week for nap time. At home, she now loves to demand "Nap Mat! Nap Mat!" To her, this means laying on the mat, covered in her blankie, with a pacifier.

This is both a blessing and a curse. If she is winding down and getting tired at the end of a long day, it is a good way to keep her occupied for awhile until bedtime and avoid an otherwise very cranky little girl. Other times, it is just a ploy to get the pacifier and she tries to get off the mat after about five seconds.

On another note, I find it fascinating that the pre-school teachers can get six kids under the age of two to lie on mats and go to sleep at the same time every day. But somehow they do!

  1. Caedyn naps much better at school than she does at home. We’ve been told that even if she wakes up early during naptime at school – she’ll STAY on her mat until naptime is over. Sometimes this is up to a full hour!! I think the preschool teachers are magical.

And I think we jinxed ourselves with the whole pacifier thing. When Caedyn was smaller, she could do with or without it. Now she is a pacifier monster. If she sees one – she MUST have it. Ugh.
